South Sudanese Women Building Association (SSWBA) is a Non-governmental, Non-profit Organization engaged in relief/humanitarian initiatives to support women, youths, refugees and Immigrants residing in refugee settlement, within Uganda and outside. Through various demand-driven & human cantered programs, our interventions focus on a Participatory Integrated Development (PICD) approach through harnessing IDEAS, INNOVATION and INVESTMENT and leaving no one behind so that the women become self-reliant and are able to meet their basic needs and contribute positively towards a sustainable society.

what we do

Humanitarian Initiatives

Engaged in providing relief and humanitarian aid to support women, youths, refugees, and immigrants, particularly those residing in refugee settlements within Uganda and beyond.
Delivering healthcare interventions such as mobile clinics, immunization campaigns, reproductive health services, and psychosocial support to address the health needs of communities in crisis.

Community Empowerment

Facilitating community-led initiatives and participation in decision-making processes to strengthen resilience, social cohesion, and self-reliance among affected populations.

CAUSES

Economic Empowerment

Here we engage refugees & Immigrants as well as the nearby host communities, especially women, youths, and young girls in social-economic empowerment programs, interventions will include conducting vocational training sessions in tailoring, garment cutting, and other skills for women and youths in the community.

Gender and Human rights interventions

Under this, we will have programs aimed at reducing Gender Based Violence by providing refugees with safe spaces and a friendly environment for consultations, offering guidance and counseling, and training on trauma healing to both communities.

Refugee and Immigrants’ Rights Advocacy

Under this, we will engage in activities that enable the refugees and Immigrants to be heard regarding issues of paramount concern, interventions will include Implementing advocacy campaigns and community dialogues to raise awareness about refugee rights and protection. Eg right to work, food, movement, and education.

The Organization accepts contributions locally & externally. Funds available for activities are only invested in prescribed activities within Uganda and other parts of the world when authorized by the AGM in consonance with national laws and guidelines of the foreign country.
